Rally: the good news app

We find and platform the positive stories that get lost in the chaos of the news cycle — from the publishers you already trust.

01 / Who we are

This is who we are

Rally was started by these two nerdy siblings, Sam and Ganya Brooks, who got sick of the torrent of bad news that hit them like a firehose every time they picked up their phones.

02 / What we believe

This is what we believe

We're living in a time of unprecedented opportunity. We just can't see all that goodness.

We believe staying informed about the state of the world is critical, and we know our world has some real problems we need to address. But we also believe we're living in a time of unprecedented opportunity. We just can't see all that goodness, because our entire digital lives have been crafted to maximize strife and discord. It leaves us with the impression that the world is going to hell in a handbasket and there's nothing we can do to stop it.

We thought long and hard about how to fight that, and finally came up with Rally: the good news app that surfaces the stories we'd otherwise miss, simply because they're not as clicky as the bad news flooding our feeds.

03 / What we built

This is what we built

Rally is a free mobile app for iOS and Android, and it's the first positive news aggregator that surfaces only good news stories, straight from the publishers you already trust. Every day, outlets around the world publish uplifting stories — human interest pieces, medical breakthroughs, scientific discoveries, climate wins. They just don't get the clicks that bad news does. So we built a proprietary engine that scans those publishers and brings their good stuff together in one place.

But we don't think being positive should feel like homework. That's why Rally is built to be genuinely fun, with features designed to give you a more balanced, hopeful view of the world. Our Discover feed works just like your favorite doomscrolling app, minus the gloom. Our widgets remind you of all the wonderful things happening in the world every time you check your home screen. And our Rallying Cries give you a quick bite of good news whenever you need a pick-me-up.

Best of all, Rally is completely free to install and use.

04 / Our publishers

This is how we support our publishers

We support the newsrooms behind every story we surface.

01

No scraping

Rally doesn't scrape content.

02

Straight to the source

Instead, we take you straight to the original publisher to read the full story.

03

Credit where it's due

So the journalists who wrote it get the credit (and the traffic) they deserve — all without ever leaving the Rally app.

05 / How we make money

This is how we make money

We don't.Not right now.

Rally is a passion project made by two siblings and a Claude subscription. For the moment, it's ad-free and has no paywalls (except the publishers' own).

We'd love to grow the project in the future with your help, but we'll never put the core features behind a paywall, and we'll never take money from shady places.

06 / How you can help

This is how you can support us

Download Rally. Leave a review in your app store of choice. Tell your friends, and help spread the good news revolution. The more you dive into the Rally ecosystem, the bigger we can make this thing.

The project is based out of Berlin. Sadly, our founder doesn't have the right to open a business in Germany at the moment due to his visa, which means we can't take any money. Not even a donation.
